Our client is a leading company in the construction and civil engineering sector, known for delivering high-quality projects across Aberdeen and the Highlands and Islands. They are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Buyer to join their team on a fixed-term 10-month contract.
Key Responsibilities:
- Source and procure materials, equipment, and services required for projects.
- Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to ensure cost-effective purchasing.
- Maintain and manage supplier relationships to ensure timely delivery and quality standards.
- Monitor market trends and adjust procurement strategies accordingly.
- Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and timelines.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Buyer in the construction or civil engineering industry is desirable.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Proficient in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of market trends and supply chain management.
