We are currently recruiting for an experienced Planner to join an established contractor delivering civil engineering and infrastructure projects across the Scottish Highlands.
This is a permanent opportunity for someone with strong construction planning experience to support project teams in developing, maintaining and monitoring programmes from pre-construction through to project completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed project programmes for civil engineering projects
- Produce tender, pre-construction and live project programmes
- Work closely with Project Managers, Site Agents and engineering teams to establish realistic project schedules
- Monitor progress against programme and identify potential delays or risks
- Update programmes to reflect site progress and changing project requirements
- Produce short-term and look-ahead programmes
- Assist with programme forecasting and recovery planning
- Analyse critical paths, programme dependencies and key project milestones
- Produce progress reports and programme updates for internal teams and clients
- Attend project, planning and progress meetings
- Liaise with commercial and operational teams to ensure programmes reflect project requirements
- Support tender submissions with programmes, methodologies and sequencing
- Maintain accurate planning records throughout the project lifecycle
About You
We are interested in speaking with candidates who have previous planning experience within civil engineering, infrastructure or construction.
Ideally, you will have:
- Previous experience as a Planner, Planning Engineer or similar
- Experience working on civil engineering or infrastructure projects
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing and project delivery
- Experience developing and maintaining construction programmes
- Good knowledge of Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project
- Ability to analyse project progress and identify programme risks
- Understanding of critical path analysis
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work closely with both site-based and commercial teams
- Relevant construction, civil engineering or project management qualification would be advantageous
- Full UK driving licence
