HGV Driver – Supporting a Sustainable Future

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HGV C+E Driver to join a company that plays an important role in protecting the environment while delivering an essential service to its customers.
The successful candidate will operate a modern, high-spec chain lift skip vehicle, with trailer use when required. Drivers are allocated their own vehicle and benefit from well-organised schedules, sent directly to their phone the evening before each shift. The focus of this role is on safe, compliant operations while delivering a high standard of service and building positive relationships with customers.
Key Responsibilities

Operating a chain lift skip lorry (with trailer when required) in line with all road safety regulations and company standards

Carrying out daily vehicle inspections and checks to ensure compliance with legal and company requirements

Managing tachograph records in accordance with current legislation

Maintaining accurate completion of all daily documentation and records

Taking pride in maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of the allocated vehicle

Supporting operational flexibility by driving alternative vehicles (hook loaders, bin lorries, or vans) when needed to cover absences

Reporting incidents promptly in line with company procedures

Completing all required mandatory training relevant to the role

Assisting with occasional yard duties when operationally required

Demonstrating a customer-focused approach at all times
Working Pattern:
Monday – Friday, 07:00 – 15:30
Home every evening.

Experience & Qualifications

Full UK Driving Licence
-
HGV C+E Licence
-
Valid Driver CPC
-
Experience operating chain lift skip vehicles or hook loaders is advantageous but not essential – full training will be provided

Waste logistics experience beneficial but not required
-
Experience towing trailers desirable
Pay & Benefits

£31,773 per annum + Overtime paid at time and a half after 8 hours
