General Operative

Are you looking for a hands-on role in a busy industrial environment? We're seeking a reliable and motivated General Operative to join our production team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys practical work, thrives in a team environment, and is keen to learn new skills. Full training will be provided, including the operation of mobile plant machinery.
The Role
As a General Operative, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the production site. Your duties will include plant operation, loading and unloading materials, housekeeping, and supporting the smooth running of daily production activities.
You'll initially focus on energy plant operations, with opportunities to develop your skills and work across other areas of the site.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate plant and production equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload vehicles.
- Operate mobile plant, including:
- Loading Shovel
- Forklift Truck
- Telehandler
- (Full training provided where required.)
- Carry out daily equipment and vehicle checks.
- Assist with basic maintenance and housekeeping.
- Maintain production records and complete routine inspections.
- Work closely with production and maintenance teams to minimise downtime.
- Follow all Health & Safety procedures and contribute to a safe working environment.
- Participate in team meetings and training activities.What We're Looking ForEssential

- Comfortable working outdoors and in an industrial environment.
- Physically capable of manual handling duties.
- Willingness to work shifts where required.
Desirable
- Experience operating machinery or working within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Experience operating mobile plant.
- Full, clean driving licence.
