We’re currently looking to speak with an experienced HSEQ Compliance Manager to join a well-established organisation operating within the construction sector.
This is a senior role offering the opportunity to take ownership of HSEQ strategy, compliance and continuous improvement across a busy operational environment, working closely with senior management, site teams, clients and subcontractors.
The Role
As HSEQ Compliance Manager, you will provide strategic leadership and operational support across Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality functions.
You’ll play a key role in ensuring the business remains fully compliant with legislation, client requirements and its Integrated Management System, while driving positive change in HSEQ culture and performance.
Key Responsibilities

Provide strategic HSEQ leadership and governance as part of the Senior Management Team

Support operational teams through regular site and yard visits, inspections and audits

Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, company standards and the Integrated Management System

Lead and support investigations into accidents, incidents, near misses and dangerous occurrences

Undertake root cause analysis and ensure effective corrective and preventative actions

Manage and maintain the Business Risk Register

Monitor HSEQ performance, identify emerging risks and implement improvement initiatives

Maintain and continually develop HSEQ management systems and processes
-
Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001
-
Produce HSEQ reports for senior management and Board-level review

Liaise with clients and client representatives on HSEQ performance and assurance
-
Support training, competency development and workforce engagement
-
Develop and deliver HSEQ campaigns and continuous improvement initiatives
-
Provide HSEQ support during the mobilisation and start-up of new projects and operations
-
Lead, mentor and develop HSEQ team members
What We're Looking For
Essential:
-
Minimum 5 years' HSEQ experience within a construction environment
-
NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health
-
Strong understanding of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001
-
Good knowledge of HSEQ management systems
-
Strong leadership and team management skills
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
-
Results-driven with a proactive approach
-
Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team

Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines
-
Good working knowledge of Microsoft 365
-
Full driving licence
Desirable:

Degree in a relevant discipline

Environmental qualification, such as IOSH Managing Environmental Responsibilities

Further HSEQ/environmental qualifications
