We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician to join their Maintenance team.
This is a hands-on engineering role within a busy industrial environment, where you will be responsible for keeping key production machinery and site infrastructure running safely and efficiently. You’ll work closely with both the Maintenance and Production teams, responding to breakdowns, carrying out planned maintenance and supporting improvements to equipment and processes.
The successful candidate will be time-served and dual-skilled in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, with solid industrial maintenance experience and the ability to diagnose and resolve faults across a wide range of plant and equipment.
The Role
As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician, your responsibilities will include:

Carrying out electrical and mechanical maintenance across the site.

Responding quickly to machinery breakdowns and emergency call-outs.

Diagnosing faults and carrying out effective repairs to minimise production downtime.

Completing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities across plant and equipment.

Carrying out inspections and identifying potential issues before they result in breakdowns.

Working closely with Production teams to ensure machinery and equipment are operating effectively.

Fault finding using electrical drawings and appropriate test equipment.

Carrying out PLC-level fault diagnosis.

Supporting installation, modification and improvement of equipment and processes.

Completing root cause analysis following incidents and breakdowns.

Maintaining accurate records of maintenance, repairs and control system changes.

Ensuring all equipment and maintenance activities comply with current legislation and company procedures.

Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the site.

Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.
Experience & Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:

A recognised Electrical/Mechanical Engineering qualification or equivalent.

Relevant experience working as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer/Technician within an industrial or manufacturing environment.

A time-served background with strong electrical and mechanical skills.
-
C&G/NVQ or equivalent qualifications.
-
18th Edition qualification.
-
Experience with motor controls, temperature and pressure sensing and control systems.

Good experience of planned preventative maintenance systems.
-
Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
-
The ability to read and understand electrical drawings.

Experience working with and repairing:

Good computer skills.
-
Experience with PLCs and control systems would be advantageous.
