Lead the Night. Drive the Operation.
I'm currently working with a successful and growing logistics business in Inverness that is looking to appoint an experienced Nightshift Supervisor to take ownership of its overnight operation.
This is far more than a standard supervisory role. You'll be trusted to lead from the front, coordinate a busy nightshift team and ensure freight continues moving efficiently through the network. If you enjoy making decisions, solving problems and keeping operations running at their best, this could be an excellent next step in your career.
The Opportunity
Working Monday to Friday on nights, you'll take responsibility for the smooth running of the shift, ensuring collections, trailer movements and dispatch schedules are delivered safely, efficiently and on time.
You'll be a key link between transport, warehouse and planning teams, helping maintain a seamless operation while motivating your team to deliver high standards every night.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading and supporting the nightshift team to achieve operational targets
- Organising workloads and allocating jobs effectively throughout the shift
- Loading and unloading trailers as required
- Preparing manifests, load plans and transport documentation
- Ensuring all trailers are dispatched in line with operational schedules
- Accurately entering job information into company systems
- Managing overnight operational challenges and implementing solutions
- Liaising closely with planning and warehouse teams to maintain workflow
- Driving a culture of safety, efficiency and accountability across the shift
About You
I'm keen to speak with candidates who have previous supervisory experience within transport, logistics, warehousing or distribution environments.
To be successful, you'll need:
- A valid HGV Class 1 Licence
- A valid Forklift Licence
- Strong organisational and leadership skills
- Confidence working within a fast-paced operational environment
- Good IT skills, including experience with Microsoft systems
- The ability to remain calm under pressure and make effective decisions
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
Most importantly, you'll be someone who enjoys taking responsibility, leading people and making a real impact on the success of the operation.
