An established and growing civil engineering contractor is looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to join its team in the Highlands.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced QS to join a busy contractor with a strong pipeline of civil engineering and infrastructure projects.
The Role
Working closely with the commercial and operational teams, you will be responsible for the commercial management of civil engineering projects from initial stages through to final account.
Your responsibilities will include:

Managing project costs, budgets and commercial performance

Preparing valuations, variations and final accounts
-
Subcontractor procurement, negotiation and management
-
Preparing and reviewing subcontractor payments
-
Cost forecasting and commercial reporting
-
Managing change, variations and contractual matters
-
Identifying commercial risks and opportunities
-
Working closely with Site Agents, Project Managers and Contracts Managers

Liaising with clients, subcontractors and suppliers
-
Ensuring projects are delivered within agreed commercial targets
About You
We are looking for someone with:
-
Previous Quantity Surveying experience within civil engineering
-
Experience working for a civil engineering or infrastructure contractor
-
Strong commercial and contractual awareness
-
Experience managing subcontractor packages
-
Good understanding of construction contracts
-
Strong negotiation and communication skills
-
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
-
Relevant Quantity Surveying or construction qualification preferred
-
Full UK driving licence
Experience across groundworks, roads, utilities, drainage, earthworks, energy or wider infrastructure projects would be particularly beneficial.
