I’m currently working with a leading Scottish construction group who are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Planner to join their Pre-Construction team in Aberdeen.
This is an exciting opportunity for a planner who enjoys being involved before projects go to site, helping shape build strategies, identify risks and develop programmes that ultimately help secure new work.
The Role
You’ll play a key role within the pre-construction team, working closely with the bid, commercial, operations and supply chain teams to develop high-quality tenders and successful project strategies.
Key responsibilities will include:

Producing and managing tender, contract and construction programmes.

Developing build strategies, sequencing and critical path programmes.

Reviewing tender documentation and identifying risks, opportunities and constraints.

Preparing preliminaries, logistics plans and construction methodologies.

Producing programme and methodology content for tender submissions.
-
Supporting project teams with programme monitoring and reporting.

Contributing to risk management, Health & Safety and sustainable construction planning.
The Candidate
We’re looking for someone with:

Proven experience in construction planning and programming.

Strong knowledge of Asta Powerproject, Microsoft Project or similar.

Good understanding of construction methods, contracts and procurement.
-
Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.

Strong attention to detail and commercial awareness.
-
Full UK driving licence.
-
A construction-related degree would be advantageous.
-
Civils and drainage experience would be highly desirable.
-
Experience working on large-scale construction projects would be beneficial.
The Opportunity
You’ll have the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of projects ranging from £250k to £40m, across sectors including commercial, industrial, residential and public buildings.
This is a role where you’ll be involved early in the project lifecycle, helping influence how projects are planned, priced and ultimately delivered.
