We are currently supporting a leading civil engineering contractor in their search for an experienced Site Engineer to join their expanding team. This company is known for delivering high-quality infrastructure and construction projects across Scotland.
Role Overview
As a Site Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the technical aspects of construction projects are delivered accurately and efficiently. Working closely with the Site Agent and project teams, you will oversee setting out, quality control, and compliance with project specifications. This role requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual who is willing to travel to various project sites across Scotland.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out setting out, surveying, and site measurements to ensure project accuracy
- Oversee quality control and ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards
- Support the Site Agent in managing site operations and subcontractors
- Prepare and maintain accurate site documentation, reports, and progress records
- Assist with risk assessments and method statements
- Ensure materials and equipment are used efficiently and correctly
- Liaise with clients, designers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery
Qualifications & Requirements
- HND or Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent qualification)
- Experience as a Site Engineer in a civil engineering or construction environment
- Strong technical knowledge of setting out, surveying, and construction processes
- Proficiency in using surveying instruments (e.g., GPS, total stations, and laser levels)
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Willingness to travel across Scotland
- Full clean UK driving license
Desirable:
- Experience in infrastructure, roads, utilities, or large civil works projects
- Membership of a professional body (e.g., ICE)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and other design software
