We are currently working with a leading and well-established civil engineering company that is looking to appoint an experienced Sub-Agent to support and develop its operations across the Scottish Highlands.
This is a key opportunity for an experienced civil engineering professional who has strong technical knowledge, excellent commercial awareness, and an established network across the Highland construction and infrastructure market.
The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting the company's continued growth across the region, working closely with project teams, clients, contractors, consultants, and other key stakeholders.
The Opportunity

As Sub-Agent, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of projects while helping to develop strong relationships and opportunities throughout the Scottish Highlands.
The role would suit an individual who is already operating at Sub-Agent level, or an experienced Site Agent or Senior Engineer looking to take the next step in their career with a leading organisation.
Due to the location and requirements of the role, candidates must either already live locally within the Scottish Highlands or be fully prepared and willing to relocate to the area. This is an important requirement, as the successful candidate will need to have a strong presence within the region.
Key Responsibilities

Support the Agent and Project Manager in the successful delivery of civil engineering projects.

Assist with the planning, coordination, and management of site operations.

Work closely with engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, suppliers, and the wider project team.

Ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with programme requirements.

Monitor progress, quality, resources, and productivity across the project.

Assist with commercial and contractual matters, including variations, valuations, and cost control.

Maintain strong working relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.

Contribute to programme planning and identify potential issues before they impact delivery.

Ensure works are undertaken in accordance with relevant specifications, drawings, procedures, and quality requirements.

Support health, safety, environmental, and quality standards throughout the project.

Provide clear and regular communication to senior management regarding project progress and potential risks.

Assist with the coordination and management of subcontractors and suppliers.

Help identify opportunities for improved efficiency and project delivery.

Represent the company professionally when dealing with clients and external stakeholders.
Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering and infrastructure, with previous experience working on major construction or civil engineering projects.
You should ideally have:

Previous experience as a Sub-Agent, Site Agent, Senior Engineer, or similar position.

A strong understanding of civil engineering construction methods and project delivery.

Experience working on complex or large-scale civil engineering projects.

Strong leadership and communication skills.

Good commercial and contractual awareness.

The ability to manage multiple priorities within a demanding project environment.

A proactive and practical approach to problem-solving.

Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

A willingness and ability to travel across the Highlands as required.
