We are looking for an experienced Site Agent / Site Manager to oversee the safe and successful delivery of civil engineering projects. You will be responsible for managing day-to-day site operations, coordinating site teams and subcontractors, and ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Manage daily site operations and construction activities.
Coordinate labour, plant, materials and subcontractors.
Ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme and within budget.
Maintain high standards of health, safety, quality and environmental compliance.
Monitor project progress and report to senior management.
Liaise with clients, engineers, suppliers and other stakeholders.
Resolve site issues and ensure work is completed to specification.

Skills & Experience

Previous experience as a Site Agent, Site Manager or similar role within civil engineering.

About the Role

We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established civil engineering contractor with a strong pipeline of work across Scotland. Due to continued growth, they're looking to appoint an experienced Site Engineer / Setting Out Engineer to join their team.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on a variety of infrastructure and civil engineering projects, including roads, drainage, utilities, earthworks, bridges, renewable energy and water infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out accurate setting out using Total Stations, GPS and surveying equipment.
Interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
Produce as-built surveys and maintain accurate site records.
Ensure works are completed safely, accurately and in line with project specifications.
Supervise subcontractors and provide technical support on site.
Complete quality inspections and maintain QA documentation.
Promote high standards of health & safety across all site activities.
Liaise with Site Managers, Project Managers, clients and the wider project team.

About You

To be successful, you'll have:

Previous experience as a Site Engineer or Setting Out Engineer.
A background in civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
Experience using Leica, Trimble or Topcon surveying equipment.
The ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
A Degree, HNC or HND in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
A valid CSCS Card.
A full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable qualifications include SMSTS/SSSTS, First Aid, Temporary Works, CAT & Genny or NRSWA.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance.
Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults.
Perform inspections, testing, and maintenance on production equipment.

Read and interpret electrical drawings for fault finding and repairs.

About You

We're looking for someone who has:

Essential

Time-served Multi-Skilled Engineer (Electrical/Mechanical).
C&G, NVQ or equivalent engineering qualification.
Current Electrical Regulations qualification (18th Edition or equivalent).
Experience within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
Experience with:
Motor controls
Temperature and pressure control systems
Planned preventative maintenance
Pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, bearings and mechanical drives
